Who this covers
XS Element publishes this website and the software distributed through it: browser extensions, desktop applications, and mobile applications. This policy applies to all of them, and to any correspondence you send us. Wherever it says "we" or "us", it means XS Element. Wherever it says "our software", it means any application or extension we publish, on any platform.

The short version
We do not collect personal information about you. There are no accounts to create, no profiles to build, no advertising, no analytics product and no third-party tracking in anything we publish. Our software does its work on your device, and what it reads there stays there.
Information we collect
None that identifies you. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your phone number, your contacts, your location or your payment details in order to use our software, and we have no server that stores such things. We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we hold none to sell, rent or share.
Two narrow exceptions exist, and both are described in full below: the ordinary technical logs that any web server produces when it serves a page, and whatever you choose to write to us yourself.
How our software handles your data
Our software processes information locally, on the device it is installed on. Anything it reads while it runs – page content, requests, device and browser characteristics, settings you choose, results it produces – is held on your device and is not transmitted to us. We operate no collection endpoint for it and could not retrieve it if we wanted to.
- Local storage only. Preferences and working data live in the storage the platform provides to the application: browser extension storage, or the application's own container on a desktop or mobile device.
- Removable by you. Uninstalling the software, or clearing its data through the controls your browser or operating system provides, removes everything it kept.
- No accounts, no sync. Nothing is synchronised to a server of ours, and nothing is tied to an identity.
- No remote configuration or analytics. Our software does not phone home for instructions, feature flags, usage counts or crash telemetry.
- Network calls are yours to make. If a feature needs to reach an outside service to do what you asked, it says so, it runs only when you invoke it, and it is described in the software itself.
Permissions
Extensions and applications must declare the permissions they need, and platforms show you that list before you install. We ask only for what a feature actually requires, and each permission we request exists to let the software do its work on your device. A permission granted to our software is not a channel back to us; it is not a licence for us to collect anything, and we do not.
Where a platform lets you grant access one site or one folder at a time rather than everywhere, our software is built to work that way. You can revoke any permission at any time through your browser's extension settings or your operating system's privacy settings, and you can remove the software entirely.
This website
Serving a page produces the request logs that every web server produces: IP address, timestamp, path requested, user agent and response status. They exist so the site can be delivered and kept secure. No analytics product runs on top of them, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
Some pages of this site read characteristics your browser already offers to any site that asks for them, and display them back to you so you can see what a page can learn. That work happens in your browser. Nothing produced by it is sent to us or stored on a server, and small records the site keeps in your browser to make those pages work stay on your machine and are cleared by your browser's site data controls.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own today, and our software sets none. If that changes – for a preference you have chosen, a session, or a similar function – this policy will be updated to say what the cookies are and what they do before they are introduced, and any cookie beyond what is strictly necessary will be set only with your consent, in the manner the law where you live requires. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not intend to.
Contacting us
If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your email address, anything else you choose to include and the content of your message. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing and not passed to anyone else. We keep correspondence only as long as it takes to deal with it.
Service providers
Running a website means other companies necessarily handle the traffic that reaches it. Loading any page discloses your IP address and user agent to whoever serves part of it, and this is true of every site on the internet, not only ours. Ours involves:
- Our hosting and content delivery provider, which serves every request and produces the logs described above.
- A font provider, which serves the typefaces the pages use.
- A transactional email provider, which delivers messages sent through the contact form.
- Map, location and anti-abuse services on the specific pages that use them, described on those pages.
These providers act on our instructions and handle the traffic in order to deliver the site. None of them is given personal information by us for their own purposes, and none is permitted to use what they see to advertise to you on our behalf. Links from our site or software to somewhere else are ordinary links, and the privacy practices of whatever you open are that site's own.
App stores and distribution
Our software is distributed through browser extension stores and mobile and desktop application stores. Those platforms run their own accounts, payments and download statistics, and they collect information under their own privacy policies. We receive from them only aggregate figures such as install counts, which say nothing about who you are.
Security
The most reliable protection for your data is that we never hold it. Beyond that, this site is served over HTTPS, our software is built to keep what it reads on your device, and access to the small amount of correspondence we do hold is limited to us.
Children
Our software is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing about a child for us to hold or delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data protection law gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy of it. Those rights apply to us, and in practice they resolve quickly: outside anything you have written to us directly, we hold nothing about you.
To exercise any of them, or to have your correspondence deleted, write to info@xselement.com. We do not discriminate against anyone for making such a request. We also sell no personal information, so there is no sale for you to opt out of.
International visitors
This site is served from a global content delivery network, so a request is answered by whichever location is nearest to you. Any correspondence you send us is stored and read in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, this policy changes with them and the date below is updated. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly. Questions about any of it go to info@xselement.com.
